To measure waste water climate neutrality is a challenge. GHG emissions should account for the energy used, the process emissions, the chemicals, road transport and the emissions embedded in the equipment, concrete and pipes. Waste water needs to be conveyed to sewage treatment plants and treated wastewater must meet the aesthetic standards of the ambient environment for receiving water bodies.
